Welcome to this week's edition of the MIT Academy High School Newsletter! We're excited to share the latest happenings and updates from our school community to keep you informed and engaged.

ground breaking
School News and Updates

  • We had our Gym Groundbreaking ceremony!!! We celebrated breaking ground on our new gym! It was a great way to celebrate with the community. You can see the livestream here.
  • We had our make up photo day on 9/17. We will use these photos to print student IDs and to update the Minga App.

  • We are looking for parent volunteers to help with campus supervision. If you are interested or available, please contact Ms. Mildred Gains at mgains@gtaschools.org.
CBCBD
Upcoming Events
You can view important school-wide events by subscribing to our school Google Calendar.
  • Next week's schedule will be different. We will have a CBCBD schedule, which means school will be released at 3:40pm Monday-Thursday, and at 140pm on Friday.
  • September 15- October 15 is National Hispanic Heritage month. We are excited to celebrate the rich Hispanic culture with our school community.
  • 9/26 is pie a senior day at lunch! Bring money to pie a senior!
  • Spring Honor roll has changed! We will hold ALL Spring honor roll on Thursday, September 26 out on the big green. Because the 9th graders are new to us, we only celebrate honor roll for 10-12th graders for the Spring 24 honor roll, then for all students for the Fall 25 honor roll. We will send messages to families of students who will be receiving an award.
  • Back to school night will be September 26 from 6pm-8pm. We look forward to seeing our families come out to see the great learning happening here at MIT.
  • September 27 is California Native American day! Take time to honor the Native Americans who were the original inhabitants of this land.
  • September 27 at 10am will be the first Danishes with the Director meeting of the school year. This is an open forum meeting where parents can come and meet with the director and ask any questions and learn more about the school. If you plan to attend, please RSVP here.
  • September 27 is the end of the first grading period. This means your grades will be posted for your parents/ guardians to see! Make sure you're caught up on all you work!
  • September 27 is a D day with a 1:40pm release. You can view the bell schedule here.

After school program & Extracurricular activities
  • If you are staying after school for ANY reason (clubs, sports, etc), we need you to complete this registration form to ensure we have the correct emergency contact information. All students staying after school for any reason now need to check in at the MPR (sign in), then go to their respective activity. While in the MPR you will also have the opportunity to get a snack from the cafeteria.

Important Reminders
  • Come in Dress Code every day. If you need assistance purchasing clothes, please inform the main office. Students out of dress code are subject to a $15 charge for replacement items.
  • School attendance is extremely important Be sure you are in class on time every day to every class. This helps ensure that you are not missing important learning, and it helps fund important programs at the school!
  • Be sure to be present and on time to every class every day. Remember, we will be enforcing our attendance policy as outlined in the student handbook.

  • Students and parents can access important links on our Student/Parent Links Hub. This is one document where you can gain access to many of our resources.
